Well, tomorrow we start. The Lamb family is fasting from negativity for 40 days with the 2009 Life Above the Negativity International Campaign. It coincides with Lent, as we lead up to Easter, and beings March 1. The fact that, when I heard about it, I didn’t want to do it, was a red flag. Why, [...] Well, if you’ve seen my twitter updates, you know what my wife’s surprise was for us this long weekend: a trip to Niagara Falls! We just got back and had a great time. The girls got to go swimming & shopping, we ate at the Flying Saucer for breakfast (one of our favourite places there), [...] Remember how, when you were a kid, everything looked different than it does now? Buildings were bigger, distances were further, and time was longer. Sometimes it’s hard to remember what things are like through the eyes of a child. That’s why we need children. They help us see ourselves and the world around us from [...] Had a great conversation with Sarah this morning, while driving her to school…. Dad: “Do you ever feel like you don’t fit in at school?” Sarah: “Yup.” Dad: “So how do you cope with that?” Sarah: “Suck it up.” (I think she’s inherited my matter-of-fact approach, don’t you?) Dad: “Do you ever talk with some of your friends about that? [...] Yesterday, I took my 6 year old daughter sledding, and we had a great time! I took the video camera along, and interviewed her as a famous tobogganer, and got some great tips on how to do this properly. Just got home from the Capson’s. These guys are some of our favourite people, and it’s been a while since we’ve made time to hang out, but we still enjoy their company as much as ever. I won’t caption it, because we’re all colour coded. The Lamb’s are blonde, and the Capson’s all have brown [...] |
