Well, tomorrow we start. The Lamb family is fasting from negativity for 40 days with the 2009 Life Above the Negativity International Campaign. It coincides with Lent, as we lead up to Easter, and beings March 1. The fact that, when I heard about it, I didn’t want to do it, was a red flag. Why, [...] Several times throughout my life, I’ve heard a voice that’s not from God, from me, or from anyone around me. It robbed me of initiative, stole precious time away, and made me afraid to face my future. Really, it wasn’t the voice alone that did all this; it was what the voice said. It’s similar to facebook, but it helps Christians join together in prayer. It’s the part of you that God created to freak out and run the other way when something bad happens. Time has the same effect on your pendulum that gravity does on the one pictured here. As we mature, we’re supposed to become less extreme, more steady, less [...] One of my favourite books is “Why I Am A Christian,” by John Stott. I was thinking today about his first reason, which I immediately identified with when I first read it.
